The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home this week to face Albany in a 1:05 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 25. The contest between the Crusaders and the Great Danes will be shown by the Patriot League Network, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Freshman guard Caleb Green scored a career-high 22 points, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Fairleigh Dickinson 87-76 at Stratis Arena at the Rothman Center. The Crusaders fall to 2-2 on the season with the loss, while the Knights improve to 3-2 overall.
Holy Cross junior linebacker Ryan Brady and senior tight end Jayke Simsheuser have been selected to the 2017 Academic All-Patriot League football team, as announced by the conference office. The Crusaders' two selections tied for the second most in the league. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, and be a starter or key reserve.
Senior goalie Tessie Salatas was named the NEWHA Defensive Player of the Week for play from Nov. 13-18.

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – Sophomore Lauren Manis led the Crusaders with a career-high 28 points, but the Crusaders fell to Hofstra by a score of 69-63 on Tuesday night at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
Seven members of the Holy Cross football team have earned 2017 All-Patriot League honors, as announced by the conference office. Senior linebacker Nick McBeath was named to the first team, while senior wide receiver Blaise Bell, junior defensive lineman Teddy Capsis, senior defensive lineman Jack Kutschke, junior special teams player Jack McCabe, senior offensive lineman James Murray and senior quarterback Peter Pujals received second team honors.
The Holy Cross men's soccer concluded their 2017 campaign with a 7-9-4 overall record and 4-3-2 mark in Patriot League action. The Crusaders finished in fifth place for their first Patriot League Tournament bid since 2013. The team made a run to the Patriot League Championship game, where they fell to Colgate, 1-0, on Nov. 12.

Holy Cross senior quarterback Peter Pujals has been selected as the recipient of the 72nd annual Nils V. "Swede" Nelson Award, for outstanding achievement in academics, athletics, sportsmanship and citizenship. Pujals will receive the honor at the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston's Bob Whelan College Awards Dinner, which will take place on Thursday, Dec. 14, at the Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, Mass.
