Bruce Stearns enters his 36th year in 2016-2017 as anassistant coach with the Holy Cross women’s track programafter having joined the staff in 1981.
Stearns’ duties include working with the women sprinters,hurdlers, high jumpers and multi event performers. He has coachedPatriot League and New England champions in the 55 meter highhurdles, 100 meter hurdles and the heptathlon while also coaching aPatriot League champion in the 400 meter hurdles.
Stearns also has helped his athletes break numerous Holy Crossrecords, including the 55-meter high hurdles, 100-meter highhurdles, 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash,4x100-meter relay, 4x400-meter relay, the pentathlon and theheptathlon.
Stearns graduated from Worcester State College with a degree inMedia Communications. He qualified for the NCAA Division IIINational championship in the 55 meter high hurdles and capturedmany Worcester City and MASSCAC hurdles crowns.
