Lindsay Jackson is in her third season as the head coach of the field hockey program in 2017-2018. Jackson, who is the fifth head coach in program history, came to Holy Cross from Limestone College where she served as the head coach since 2008.
In 2016, Jackson led the Crusaders to a 9-10 overall reacord and a 3-3 mark in Patriot League play. The Crusaders made their first appearance in the Patriot League Tournament since the 2006 season. Jackson also coached four student-athletes to All-Patriot League recognition in Marcia LaPlante, Maureen Connolly, Emily Loprete and Lauren Sutherland. LaPlante posted the best save percentage in the nation at .817, and earned the Patriot League's Goalkeeper of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. LaPlante and Connolly also garnered All-Northeast Region honors.
Jackson was responsible for building a very successful Limestone field hockey program in a short period of time. After a winless inaugural season, Jackson’s Limestone squad improved its win-loss record every year since. She guided Limestone to its first winning season in 2011 with an 11-6 overall record and increased the team’s win total to 13-5 in 2012.
Limestone posted a 15-5 record in 2013 and won the Division II ECAC Invitational Tournament. After joining the ECAC Field Hockey League in 2014, Jackson guided the Saints to a program-record 17-3 overall record and a perfect 6-0 mark in conference play. The nationally-ranked Saints claimed the first ECAC Field Hockey Tournament Championship in 2014. For her success, she was named the ECAC Field Hockey League Coach of the Year as well as the Division II Coach of the Year by Synapse Sports.
Prior to her time at Limestone, where she also served as the senior women’s administrator since 2010, Jackson had previous coaching experience at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian College as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach for two seasons from 2007-2008. She also coached at the USA Futures Field Hockey Program in the spring of 2012 and 2013. Jackson got her coaching start in 2006, where she was an assistant field hockey coach at Southern High School in Harwood, Md.
Over the course of her career, Jackson also has worked many field hockey camps, including at James Madison, Maryland and Wake Forest. In addition to operating her own local clinics, she also worked at the USA Athletes International and Circle Play camps.
Jackson attended Mercyhurst University, where she played both field hockey and lacrosse. She earned All-Academic accolades during every field hockey and lacrosse season and was named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coach Association (IWLCA) Division II Academic Honor Roll four times. Jackson also participated in the North vs. South field hockey and lacrosse All-Star games during her senior season.
Jackson graduated from Mercyhurst in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Restaurant and Institutional Management. She earned her master’s degree in Coaching Education from Ohio University in 2013.
