Joe Bertoletti is in his fourth full academic year as Holy Cross' senior associate director of athletics for external operations in 2017-2018, after joining the department in April of 2014. Bertoletti is a key part of the Holy Cross senior athletic staff, with primary responsibilities for leading revenue generation and external communications. He serves as the department's primary administrator for the men's ice hockey, women's ice hockey, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and volleyball programs, and oversees athletic development, ticketing, marketing, media relations, video production and corporate partnerships.

Bertoletti came to Holy Cross after spending the previous two and a half years at the University of Maryland. He joined the Terrapins as assistant athletics director for development at Maryland in October of 2011, and was promoted to associate athletics director in April of 2013. He oversaw all activities involved with the athletic development annual giving programs and fundraising within the Terrapin Club. Bertoletti’s duties with the Terrapin Club included handling annual membership, marketing, branding, benefit administration, premium seats and outreach, as well as the day-to-day operations for the annual giving program.

Prior to his time at Maryland, Bertoletti spent one year as the assistant athletics director for development at the University of Central Florida in 2010 and 2011. In addition to his work in annual giving, he focused on premium seating at UCF Arena and BrightHouse Networks Stadium.

Bertoletti was previously the director of annual giving at the University of California from 2008-2010. He was responsible for the oversight and management of all annual fundraising operations, including solicitations, marketing, electronic media, stewardship, cultivation, total ticketing and donation revenue generation. Bertoletti also spent two years as the external operations manager and director of marketing at Drake University from 2006-2008, where he handled the management of athletics creative services, marketing, annual giving, ticket sales and operations.

Bertoletti is a 2006 graduate of Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in management and a focus in marketing. He was heavily involved with the athletics department throughout his time as an undergraduate, serving as director of operations for the women’s gymnastics team, in addition to assisting in marketing and development. Bertoletti also interned with the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
