WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross baseball team was selected to play in the Corvallis, Ore. Regional, as announced by the NCAA on Monday. The Crusaders will make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1978 after winning the Patriot League Championship for the first time in program history and securing an automatic bid.
Holy Cross will open the NCAA Tournament against Oregon State this Friday, June 2, at 11:00 p.m. eastern time, 8:00 p.m. pacific time. The Beavers are currently the No. 1-ranked team in the nation by D1Baseball.com. The other two teams selected to the Corvallis Regional were No. 21 Nebraska and Yale.
The first round of the tournament features a double elimination format, with one team from each of the 16 regionals across the country advancing to the super regionals. The 16 teams in the super regionals will then play in a best-of-three series to determine the eight teams that will move on to the college world series in Omaha, Neb.
Friday night's game between Oregon State and Holy Cross will be broadcast on ESPNU, and can also be viewed online at ESPN.com/watch or with the Watch ESPN app on mobile devices.

The Holy Cross Alumni Association will be hosting a pre-game party for all Holy Cross fans and alumni who will be attending the Holy Cross-Oregon State game this Friday, June 2. The gathering will take place at Clodfelter's Pub in Corvallis (only a six minute walk from Goss Stadium) beginning at 6:00 p.m. The first pitch for the Holy Cross-Oregon State game is set for 8:00 p.m. PDT.
