Holy Cross Teams With velocityHUB For New Victory Academy
NASHUA, N.H. – Holy Cross Athletics will have a new resource available to all of its student-athletes during the 2017-2018 academic year. The Crusaders are teaming with velocityHUB, a leading provider of business consulting and professional training services, through their collegiate leadership program, the Victory Academy.
Holy Cross strives for individual and team success in intercollegiate athletics, and is guided by the core values of PASSION, ACHIEVEMENT, INTEGRITY and RESPECT – with confidence that these promote the intellectual, physical, spiritual and moral development of their student-athletes. Through this partnership with the Victory Academy, the Holy Cross Department of Athletics is showing commitment to their core values of providing student-athletes with development opportunities to succeed in all aspects of life.
Holy Cross student-athletes will gather for 14 unique leadership workshops across the course of the upcoming academic year. The academy will cover a range of impactful leadership and personal and professional development topics. Specific areas of focus will include leadership styles, productivity, communication, teamwork, mental toughness, brand management, networking, as well as, professional presence and etiquette. They will be given tools and strategies to develop personal leadership profiles and learn ways to leverage their athletic experience, to become confident leaders on and off the field. The Academy will also incorporate specific training from the velocityHUB offering built for executives, professionals and emerging leaders in companies large and small, from Fortune 100 to Inc. 500 businesses.
Nathan Pine, Director of Athletics, is enthusiastic about commencing the new partnership. “At Holy Cross, we invest heavily in the holistic development of our student-athletes in an effort to set them up for success in all aspects of life” said Pine. “We are excited to partner with Victory Academy to develop a full-year leadership program that will support all 730 of our student-athletes and will give them tools and strategies to increase their leadership knowledge and capabilities.
