
Crusaders Set To Face Lafayette

The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 2, when it heads to Lafayette for a 7:00 p.m. game. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be televised live by the Lafayette Sports Network and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 3-9 on the season with an 0-1 mark in Patriot League. The Crusaders have lost nine of their last 10 games, and are coming off a 79-74 setback against Colgate on Friday night.
Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has led the team by averaging 10.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game, while hitting 67.4 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard Caleb Green is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 10.3 points, 3.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds per contest. Junior forward Karl Charles has added 10.2 points, 3.0 assists, 2.0 boards and 1.6 steals per game, while junior guard Patrick Benzan is chipping in with 8.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.
Lafayette enters the game with an overall record of 2-10 and stands 0-1 in the Patriot League. The Leopards have dropped four of their last five games, including a 79-74 setback against Lehigh on Friday.
Senior forward Matt Klinewski has led the team by averaging 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while hitting 54.1 percent of his field goal attempts. Freshman guard Justin Jaworski has added 11.8 points and 2.3 boards per contest, while freshman guard Alex Petrie is chipping in with 10.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
After the contest at Lafayette, the Crusaders will head to Lehigh for a 6:00 p.m. game on Friday, Jan. 5.
