FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Rider, 3-0, by scores of 25-12, 25-23 and 25-19 on Saturday morning on the second day of the Sacred Heart Invitational. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 0-3 overall, while the Broncs improve to 4-2. Holy Cross concludes play in the tournament on Saturday afternoon when it meets Bryant at 3:00 p.m.

Junior co-captain Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) led the Crusaders with 12 kills, while sophomore Rebecca DeSanti (Hampden, Mass.) recorded a career-best seven kills. Sophomore setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 24 assists, while sophomore Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) recorded a career-best 14 digs.

The Broncs were led by Lacey Johnson's 11 kills and Lindsay Brant's 10 kills, while Elyse Grassbuck had 15 assists and Amanda Piccolini had 12 assists.
