WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to American, 3-0, by scores of 30-25, 30-17 and 30-22, in Patriot League action this evening. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-13 overall and 0-4 in the Patriot League, while the Eagles improve to 10-6 overall and 3-0 in the Patriot League.

Freshman Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) led Holy Cross in kills with 11, while junior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the team in digs with nine and was second in kills with nine. Senior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) dished out 25 assists.

The Eagles were led by Elizabeth Maloney's 11 kills and Maile Krauss' 22 assists. Ivana Cebakova had double-digit digs with 12, while Ann Recht was strong at the net with three total blocks.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, September 30, when they travel to Annapolis, Md., to face Patriot League opponent Navy at 7:00 p.m.
