WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 16 digs to lead the team in both categories, but it was not enough as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to American, 3-0, by scores of 30-8, 30-23 and 30-23 in Patriot League action on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-20 overall (0-9 Patriot League), while the Eagles improve to 16-7 overall (8-1 Patriot League).

Sophomore Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) ranked second on the team in kills with five, while freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 23 assists.

The Eagles were led by Chelsa Brooks' 10 kills and Christina Nash's 19 assists.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, October 27 when they travel to West Point, N.Y., to take on Patriot League opponent Army at 2:00 p.m.
