PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Providence, 3-0, by scores of 30-26, 30-21 and 30-25, in non-conference action, on Saturday morning. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-1 overall, while the Friars open their season 1-0.

Sophomore outside hitter Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Crusaders with 10 kills, while senior outside hitter Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) added nine kills. Freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 30 assists and eight digs, while junior libero Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led Holy Cross defensively with 13 digs.

The Friars were led by Sarah Fleming's 16 kills and Sara Sheehan's 29 assists.

The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, August 30, when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass., to face Boston College at 7:00 p.m. in the Boston College/Northeastern Challenge.
