Volleyball Falls To Villanova, 3-0

VILLANOVA, Pa.- The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Villanova, 3-0, by scores of 30-12, 30-12 and 30-25, in non-conference action at the Villanova Classic, on Friday evening. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-8 overall, while the Wildcats improve to 2-8 overall. Holy Cross continues play in the tournament on Saturday when it faces Maryland-Baltimore County at 12:30 p.m. and Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m.
Junior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the Crusaders in kills with eight, while senior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 18 assists. Freshman Anastasia Quinn (Wilmington, Del.) had a strong match with seven kills and fellow freshman Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) contributed with four kills. Sophomore Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led the team defensively with eight digs.
The Wildcats were led by Kacy Sellers' 17 kills, while Chelsea Graman had 23 assists and Jenna Link had 21 assists. Adrian Semrau also was solid with 14 kills.
