WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Holy Cross volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to American, by scores of 25-13, 25-12, and 25-13, in Patriot League play on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-20 (0-9 Patriot League) while the Eagles improve to 17-6 (9-0 Patriot League).

Sophomore setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 15 assists for the Crusaders, while sophomore libero Angela Chisholm (Millis, Mass.) led the Crusaders with 10 digs. Junior co-captain Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) and freshman Mallaigh McGinley (Amity Harbor, N.Y.) each recorded five kills for Holy Cross.

The Eagles were led by Rebecca Heath with eight kills, Christina Nash with 29 assists and Ivana Cebakova with 11 digs.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host Patriot League opponent Army at the Holy Cross Field House at 7:00 p.m.
