BOCA RATON, Fla. – Darija Sataric posted 10 kills for the Owls as the Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Florida Atlantic, 3-0, at FAU Arena on Monday evening by scores of 25-15, 25-13 and 25-14. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-19 overall, while the Owls improve to 6-11 overall.

Senior captain Megan Lynch (Mendham, N.J.) and freshman Emily Oliver (Carlsbad, Calif.) each tallied seven kills, while senior captain Elizabeth Watters (San Francisco, Calif.) led the team with 11 digs. She now has 1,188 career digs moving her to third all-time on the school's all-time career digs list. Sophomore Hannah Grace Stokes (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied 20 assists.

Sataric also had a .625 hitting percentage. Cintia Nightingale led the team with 17 digs, while Jelena Jovanovic posted 30 assists and Alessia Pizzocheri tallied 12 digs.

Pizzocheri led Florida Atlantic in the 25-15 first-set victory with six kills as the Owls tallied a .419 hitting percentage. Lynch posted four kills for the Crusaders. FAU again had a strong performance in the second set with a .303 hitting percentage as the Owls won by a score of 25-13. FAU earned the sweep with a 25-14 win in the third set. Sataric tallied four kills as the team posted a .414 hitting percentage.

The Crusaders return to action when they take on Patriot League opponents Lafayette and Lehigh at the Holy Cross Field House on Oct. 12-13. On Friday, the Crusaders will play Lafayette at 7:00 p.m., while on Saturday they will meet Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. Both matches can be viewed on Crusader Vision.
