Yale Downs Women's Lacrosse 13-6

WORCESTER, Mass. - Lauren Taylor scored four goals and had one assist to lead the Yale women's lacrosse team past Holy Cross, 13-6, Tuesday in non-conference action at the Hart Astroturf. The Crusaders fall to 7-4 overall while the Bulldogs improve to 9-3 on the season.
Junior attack Kristine Corkum (Ipswich, Mass.) led Holy Cross with four goals while junior attack Amy Archambault (West Hartford, Conn.) and junior defender Cara O'Sullivan (Duxbury, M ass.) each had one goal. Freshman Megan Fenton (Bridgewater, N.J.) served out two assists while junior Nikki Bolduc (Exeter, N.H.) had one assist.
The two teams exchanged the first six goals keeping the game tied until Yale out scored Holy Cross 4-2 to go into the break with a two goal advantage, 7-5.
In the second half, the Blue Devils scored six goals and held Holy Cross to one. After snow slowly covered the field throughout the game, the referees called the game with just under 10 minutes remaining due to dangerous turf conditions.
Yale out shot Holy Cross 28-9 and caused 10 of the Crusaders 22 turnovers. The Blue Devils had 11 draw controls and picked up 20 groundballs.
Senior goalkeeper Megan Orr had 11 stops on 28 shots for Holy Cross while Ellen Cameron recorded the win for Yale with two saves on nine shots.
The Crusaders are back in action when they travel to play conference opponent Bucknell Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
