WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Taylor Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) recorded four goals and two assists to lead the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team to a 16-13 victory over Yale at the Hart Turf Field. The Crusaders improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory, while the Bulldogs begin the year at 0-1.

Holy Cross opened the game by jumping out to an early 4-1 lead, and increased the margin to 8-4 with 6:57 left in the first half following Zebrowski's second goal of the day. Yale closed out the half with three unanswered goal to make the score 8-7 at the break, then tied up the game at 8-8 early in the second half on a free position goal by Erin Magnuson.

The score was later tied at 9-9 before senior Kat Sutton (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Zebrowski netted back-to-back goals to give the Crusaders the lead for good, 11-9. Holy Cross was still clinging to a two-goal lead (14-12) with less than two minutes to play, when sophomore Laura Ryan (Stirling, N.J.) and junior Sara Hennessey (Winchester, Mass.) both scored to give Holy Cross an insurmountable 16-12 advantage.

Ryan finished the afternoon with four goals and one assist, while both Hennessey and Sutton scored four goals. Yale was led by Jen DeVito with four goals and one assist.

Junior Sarah Weber (Summit, N.J.) earned the victory for the Crusaders, making six saves while allowing 13 goals in 60 minutes of action. Erin McMullan took the loss for the Bulldogs, surrendering 16 goals and making six saves.

Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 27, when it travels to Fairfield for a 3:30 p.m. game.
