• The Lead: Sophomore Hannah Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn.) was the top runner for the Crusaders as they finished 14th at the New England Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Jeter finished 12th overall in the women's varsity race with a time of 18:07.
• Junior Mary Welsh (Manhasset, N.Y.) finished 50th overall with a time of 18:38.
• Other top runners for Holy Cross included sophomore Annie Sullivan (Southborough, Mass.), who finished 60th with a time of 18:45, junior Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.), who finished 80th with a time of 18:54 and junior Kirsty Gargiulo (Summit, N.J.), who finished 135th with a time of 19:25.

BEYOND THE RESULTS:

• The women's varsity race included 265 runners from 39 competing schools.
