• The Lead: Junior John Bentivegna (Staten Island, N.Y.) was the top runner for Holy Cross, as the Crusaders finished 14th overall at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Bentivegna finished 73rd overall with a time of 16:17 in the varsity race.
• Senior Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) was closeley behind in 80th, crossing the finish line with a time of 16:29.
• Other top runners for the Crusaders included junior Chris Conley (Walpole, Mass.), who finished 82nd with a time of 16:31, sophomore Alec Hilton (Fairfield, Conn.), who finished 85th with a time of 16:34 and sophomore Bryan Gallagher (Littleton, Mass.) who finished 88th at 16:37.
• Central Connecticut's Ryan Hertzog finished first overall for the second-straight year with a time of 15:05, as the Blue Devils captured first place.

BEYOND THE RESULTS:

• The men's varsity race included 119 runners from 15 competing schools.
