King, Critelli and Schlich Earn All-Patriot League Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Holy Cross baseball student-athletes earned All-Patriot League honors. Junior Brendan King (Brookline, Mass.) and classmate Anthony Critelli (Holmdel, N.J.) were named first team All-Patriot League, while junior Bill Schlich Massapequa, N.Y.) was named second team All-Patriot League.

King held an overall ERA of 3.03 on the season through 65.1 innings pitched. He earned a record of 6-2 while starting in 11 games for the Crusaders. He also led Holy Cross with 60 strikeouts on the season, and pitched a combined 14.2 scoreless innings in his last two appearances in the regular season against Bucknell and Lafayette. King held an ERA of 1.09 through 33.0 innings pitched in conference play this year, earning an undefeated record of 4-0 in five starts with 29 strikeouts.

Critelli has seen action in all 51 games for the Crusaders this season. He has held a batting average of .276 while leading the Crusaders with 199 at-bats and a slugging percentage of .492. Critelli leads Holy Cross with 34 RBIs this season, while ranking second on the team in runs scored with 29, and extra-base hits with 15 (14 doubles, one triple). He also leads the Crusaders with nine home runs on the season, which ranks him second all-time in school history. He notched at least one hit in 15 of 20 conference games this season.

Schlich has appeared in 46 games for Holy Cross on the year, leading the Crusaders with a batting average of .306. He has notched 25 runs scored with 24 RBIs and 16 extra-base hits (14 doubles, two triples). He has also tallied three home runs this season and holds a slugging percentage of .478 while ranking second on the team with an on-base percentage of .368.

The Crusaders are set to host Lehigh in the Patriot League Semifinals this Saturday, May 14 at Hanover Insurance Park with the first game of the best-of-three series set to begin at 1:05 p.m. They will play two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday, if necessary.
