WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team posted a league-best 27 student-athletes on the 2016 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Senior captain Sean Wilkinson (Ridgefield, Conn.) was one of only three players from around the conference to record a 4.0 grade-point average.
The other players from the team who earned Academic Honor Roll status were seniors Ryan Bringewatt (Summit, N.J.), Pat Coan (Towson, Md.), Blake Mulligan (Boca Raton, Fla.), captain Michael Ortlieb (Newport Beach, Calif.), Brendan Sheehan (Lincolnshire, Ill.) and Gillin Smith (North Bethesda, Md.); juniors Liam Driscoll (Hingham, Mass.), Sean Kirkpatrick (Glen Mills, Pa.), Kevin Lux (Manlius, N.Y.), Brendan McGonigle (Doylestown, Pa.), Jack McGovern (San Francisco, Calif.) and Michael Urquhart (Redding, Conn.); sophomores Nate Chung (Wyckoff, N.J.), Matthew Fischetti (Summit, N.J.), Will Friedman (Malvern, Pa.), Will Gaudreau (Towson, Md.), Henry Lilly (Bronxville, N.Y.), Jake Maruna (Medina, Ohio), Aidan McDonnell (Avon, Conn.) and Austin Miller (Cranston, R.I.); and freshmen Drew Babiak (Glastonbury, Conn.), Matt Farrell (Bernardsville, N.J.), Ben Marchand (Concord, Mass.), Jack McKenna (Essex Fells, N.J.), Alec Oropall (Greenwich, Conn.) and Liam Ryan (Kansas City, Mo.).
A total of 186 student-athletes from men's lacrosse teams around the league were named to the Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll a winter or spring sport student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester.
