WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross director of athletics Nathan Pine and head football coach Tom Gilmore announced an updated 2017 football schedule for the Crusaders. The slate will feature five home games at Fitton Field, along with Holy Cross' first game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent since the 2002 season.
“We have put together a very exciting and competitive football schedule for the 2017 season that I'm confident our student-athletes and fans will enjoy,” said Pine. “The addition of football scholarships in 2013 has given Holy Cross the ability to play more games against Football Bowl Subdivision opponents on the biggest stage, and we look forward to beginning that new era at UConn. We will also face a number of traditional rivals and tough regional opponents in our 2017 non-conference schedule, along with our Patriot League lineup. Additionally, I am pleased to release the future football schedules through the 2021 season at this time so that our fans can make plans to support the Crusaders in our exciting future matchups.”
In addition to the 2017 season-opening game at Connecticut, the Crusaders will also play non-conference games at home against New Hampshire and Monmouth and on the road at Dartmouth and Yale. In Patriot League competition, Holy Cross will play host to Colgate, Georgetown and Lafayette, while traveling to Bucknell, Fordham and Lehigh.
