HOW IT HAPPENED:
Siena jumped out to an early 3-0 lead at the top of the first inning off two back-to-back doubles and a two-run home run to left field.
The Crusaders answered in the bottom of the first inning when senior Josh Hassellfound his way home as classmate Anthony Critellireached on a fielding error.
In the top of the second inning, Siena added to their lead with an infield base hit to second, extending the score to 4-1.
In the bottom of the second inning, junior Cam O'Neill hit a line drive solo home run over the left field fence to make it 4-2 Saints.
Siena added a run in the top of the fifth inning when a passed ball allowed a runner to score from third, making it 5-2.
Senior Bill Schlich scored in the bottom of the fifth off a throwing error by the shortstop to make it 5-3 Siena.
Siena extended their lead to 7-3 in the top of the sixth inning off of a variety of base hits.
In the top of the eighth inning, the Crusaders walked in a run to give Siena the 8-3 lead.

The Saints outhit Holy Cross 12-2.
Holy Cross left eight runners on base, while Siena left 11.
John Nolan earned the win for Siena, allowing one earned run and three unearned runs on two hits in five innings pitched.
