HOW IT HAPPENED:
Marist got off to a strong start offensively, notching three runs on two hits in the top of the first.
After four scoreless inning, the Red Foxes added to their lead with a run off a throwing error in the top of the fifth, making it 4-0.
Marist added two more runs on three hits in the top of the seventh, making it a 6-0 game in their favor.
Holy Cross added its first runs on the game in the bottom of the seventh. Juniors Thomas Russo and Cam O'Neill both drove in runs to make it 6-2.
The Crusaders put two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth, but were unable to cut the deficit set by Marist any further.
