Women's Tennis Edged 4-3 By New Haven Saturday

  • The Lead: Despite a close battle, the Holy Cross women’s tennis team took a narrow defeat to New Haven on Saturday afternoon in Worcester.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Chargers earned the first point of the match by claiming two of three doubles matches. Sophomore Eleanor Fulghum and junior Jennifer Kary teamed up for an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.
  • New Haven earned victories in the first three spots in singles play, while the Crusaders earned wins in matches 4-6.
  • McGuire earned a hard-fought victory at No. 4, winning 9-8 with a 10-6 tiebreaker victory.
  • Junior Caroline Kam came out on top in another tie-breaker with the same score in the No. 6 match.
  • Kary claimed a decisive win in the No. 5 singles match, winning 8-3.
