Softball Shutout by BU
WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross softball team lost to Boston University, 5-0, on April 13 at Freshman Field. The Crusaders are now 8-22 on the season and move to 2-5 in Patriot League play. BU improves to 23-17 overall and 5-2 in the Patriot League. Freshman Hannah Horton, junior Taylor Wahler and seniors Mandy McCarthy and Savannah Young each recorded a hit in the loss. Ali Dubois earned the win for the Terriers in the circle and is 16-6 on the season.
- Holy Cross came out strong with two singles by Wahler and McCarthy in the first inning, but the Terriers were able to tag Wahler out at home after trying to advance on McCarthy's hit.
- Horton recorded her first hit of the game in the fifth inning with a single up the middle. However, BU made it to the top of the sixth with two pop ups and a strikeout from Holy Cross.
- McCarthy has recorded at least one hit in the last four games.
- Senior Katy Watson pitched six innings for the Crusaders with one strikeout, seven hits and three earned runs. She is 6-8 on the season.
