The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 11, when it plays host to Lafayette at 7:05 p.m. The contest between the Crusaders and the Leopards will be televised live by the American Sports Network, and can be seen in New England on NESNplus. The game will also be shown on the internet through the Patriot League Network, and will air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.

Holy Cross has won four of its last six games, but is coming off a 68-49 setback against Bucknell on Sunday. The Crusaders lead the Patriot League in scoring defense (63.3 points per game), steals (8.7 steals per game), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.30-to-1) and turnover margin (+4.8 turnovers per game).

Senior forward Malachi Alexander leads the team by averaging 13.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Senior guard Robert Champion has also been playing well, averaging 13.3 points, 3.6 boards and 1.7 steals per contest. In addition, sophomore forward Karl Charles has added 9.2 points, 3.9 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game.

Lafayette enters the game with an overall record of 6-9 and a 2-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Leopards have won two of their last three games, but are coming off a 91-75 loss against Boston University on Sunday.

Junior forward Matt Klinewski leads the team by averaging 17.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game so far this season, while hitting 55.8 percent of his field goal attempts. Senior guard Nick Lindner is also enjoying a strong year, with averages of 13.8 points, 4.8 assists and 3.1 boards per contest.

Following the contest with Lafayette, Holy Cross will hit the road for a game at Lehigh on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 2:00 p.m.
