Prior to his time at Holy Cross, Roundy spent four seasons at Trinity College. He served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Bantams who won the 2015 NCAA Division III national championship. The team went 25-3-1 to win its first national title in program history. The Bantams also won the NESCAC regular season championship for the second straight year. During his first three years as an assistant coach at Trinity, he served as both recruiting and video coordinator, coached the defensemen, and directed the penalty killing units. The Bantams qualified for the post-season in each of Roundy's three seasons and won the 2013-2014 NESCAC regular season championship.
Roundy started his coaching career at Becker College where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Hawks in 2010-2011. Roundy helped guide the Hawks to a 7-4-3 mark against conference opponents and played a pivotal role in helping Becker complete one of the most successful seasons in the school's history, as the team reached the conference semifinals for only the second time.
A 2010 graduate of Stonehill College, Roundy was a four-year member and two-time captain of the hockey team. The team won the 2007 Northeast-10 Championship. He ranks among the top-ten assist leaders in Stonehill program history.
