Women's Track And Field Competes In Final Day Of ECAC Outdoor Championship

The Lead: Six Crusaders earned All-ECAC honors, as the Holy Cross women's track and field team concluded action at the ECAC Outdoor Championship hosted by Princeton on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Junior Zoe Matherne placed third in the 800-meter run, after recording her second fastest time of the year in this event with her mark of 2:08.52. She picked up All-ECAC honors for the second time this year with her finish.
  • With their time of 47.15 seconds, the Holy Cross 4x100-meter relay team took seventh place overall. The squad consisting of sophomores Isabella DiMare, Alexandra Curtin, Sarah Friess, as well as freshman Allie Smiley each earned All-ECAC honors for their finish.
  • In the long jump finals, junior Alanna Hitscherich landed in seventh place to earn All-ECAC accolades, clearing a distance of 5.66 meters.
  • The 4x800-meter relay team of juniors Meghan Dietter, Claire Turner, Kate Spitler, as well as senior co-captain Rachel Sowinski placed 13th with their time of 9:15.96.
  • Cornell won the meet with 74 points.
