Malcolm Miller Signs Two-Way Contract With Toronto Raptors

Holy Cross Athletics   07-07-2017

TORONTO, Ontario - Forward Malcolm Miller, a 2015 Holy Cross graduate, has signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors. Miller will begin his time with the organization by playing for the Raptors' team in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Two-way contracts are new under the collective bargaining agreement that went into place July 1, and effectively allow teams to have 17-man rosters with two players in hybrid situations. Players on two-way contracts must have three or fewer years of experience and can float between the G League and the NBA for up to 45 days. Toronto’s G League team, Raptors 905, is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

Miller played last season with Alba Berlin, after spending the 2015-2016 campaign with the Maine Red Claws. During his senior season at Holy Cross, Miller averaged 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocked shots, 1.3 steals and 1.2 assists per game, while connecting on 37.2 percent of his three-point field goal attempts (45 of 121) and 83.0 percent of his free throws (117 of 141). During his career with the Crusaders, he totaled 1,013 points, 532 rebounds, 164 assists, 143 blocked shots and 93 steals. Miller ranks third all-time at Holy Cross in career blocked shots and seventh in career games started (93).

The Raptors will open play in the NBA Summer League today, July 7, when they face the New Orleans Pelicans at Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas at 6:00 p.m. EDT on NBA TV. Toronto will play a minimum of five games in the Summer League, which runs through July 17. For the complete Summer League schedule, click here.

The Holy Cross men’s basketball team is looking to contend for the Patriot League title this season, and will play a total of 14 home games in Worcester! Conference play will be highlighted by visits from defending Patriot League champion Bucknell and Turnpike Trophy rival Boston University, while key non-conference home opponents include Albany, Harvard and Iona.
