FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • The Holy Cross field hockey team continues its season this weekend, as the Crusaders host No. 18 Albany on Friday at 6:05 p.m. before heading to Quinnipiac this Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

  • Senior Maureen Connolly and sophomore Marcia LaPlante were both named Preseason All-Patriot League, as voted on by the conference’s head coaches and media relations directors.

  • Holy Cross returns three All-Patriot League selections from last season in Connolly, LaPlante and junior Emily Loprete. Connolly and LaPlante were both also named Second Team NFHCA All-Region.

  • Connolly currently leads the Crusaders with three points on the season, having tallied a goal and an assist in the team’s first game of the season at UMass last Friday.

  • Junior Caroline Bono and Loprete also scored for the Crusaders in the season opener at UMass.
