DURHAM, N.H. – The Holy Cross men’s soccer team fell to No. 16 New Hampshire on the road Wednesday night by a score of 2-0. The Wildcats maintained the majority of possession throughout the first half, outshooting the Crusaders 13-2 in the first 45 minutes. Willis Griffith made it a 1-0 game for New Hampshire in the 27th minute, as he found the back of the net with a header from 10 yards out off a free kick.

The Wildcats continued to add pressure in the second half, and managed to outshoot Holy Cross 13-1. New Hampshire took a 2-0 lead in the 73rd minute of play, as Chris Arling found the ball on a breakaway and beat junior goalkeeper Henry Stutz.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • New Hampshire outshot the Crusaders 26-3.
  • Stutz made six saves in goal for Holy Cross.
  • Andrew Pesci stopped one shot on goal for the Wildcats.
