The Holy Cross men’s basketball team heads across the Atlantic Ocean this week to take part in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, which will be played at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The tournament begins on Friday, Dec. 1, with Holy Cross facing Manhattan at 4:30 p.m. local time (11:30 a.m. in Worcester), followed by La Salle and Towson at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 2, the consolation game will be played 2:30 p.m. with the championship game slated to start at 5:00 p.m. All four games in the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic will be shown live to a national audience on the CBS Sports Network.

Holy Cross is off to a 2-3 start this season, but has dropped its last three games. Junior forward Karl Charles has led the team by averaging 14.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Freshman guard Caleb Green is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 12.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.0 rebounds per contest. Junior guard Patrick Benzan has added 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game, while junior forward Jehyve Floyd is chipping in with 10.4 points, 5.0 boards and 1.0 steals per contest.

La Salle enters the weekend with a 4-3 overall record and is coming off an 87-83 victory over Temple on Sunday. Senior forward B.J. Johnson leads the Explorers by averaging 22.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, while junior guard Pookie Powell has added 16.4 points and 3.6 boards per contest.

Manhattan stands 2-4 so far this year and has lost four consecutive games. Senior guard Rich Williams is averaging 17.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on the season, with senior forward Calvin Crawford contributing 10.8 points and 7.3 boards per contest.

Towson has an overall record of 6-1 on the season with six straight victories. Sophomore guard Zane Martin has averaged 16.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this year, while senior guard Mike Morsell has chipped in with 12.9 points and 3.4 boards per contest.

Following the Basketball Hall of Fame Belfast Classic, Holy Cross returns to action with a 7:00 p.m. game at UMass on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
