Sifferlen Signs Four-Month Professional Contract
KUUSAMO, Finland – Mandy Sifferlen, who graduated from Holy Cross in May of 2017 and worked as a volunteer assistant coach this season, has signed a four-month contract with the Kuusamon Pallo-Karhut Lentopallo volleyball team located in Kuusamo, Finland.
With help from Elitevolley.com, an agency run by Ryan Jay Owens, Sifferlen was able to find a professional team abroad after playing four seasons as a Crusader. Sifferlen will travel to Kuusamo Dec. 26 of this year to start her professional career.
“I am looking forward to helping this team win a league championship this year,” said Sifferlen. “They have had a great first half of the season, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to help them finish strong. I am so grateful to Holy Cross Volleyball for giving me the chance to volunteer with them this season while I was waiting for the right professional team to come along.”
Sifferlen posted 497 kills during her senior season, which broke the all-time individual single-season kill record. Sifferlen also holds the single-season record for average kills per set with 4.97. She ranks second all-time in total career kills with 1,334.
The outside hitter was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor all fours years, earned Academic All-Patriot League honors three times and received the Crusader of the Year award in 2017. The 2017 graduate was also recognized this past August as a nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year.
