Michael Laffin Earns Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week Nod

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior forward Michael Laffin has been named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week. It is his first weekly honor of his career and second league honor. As a freshman, Laffin was named the December Rookie of the Month.

In two games with Sacred Heart, Laffin recorded five points from four goals and one assist. On Dec. 29 Laffin helped the Crusaders to a 4-1 win with an assist on the power play followed by a goal of his own. On Dec. 30, Laffin posted three consecutive goals to help the Crusaders erase a three goal deficit and tie, 5-5.

The hat trick was the first of his career and a career high for the junior forward.

The Crusaders (7-6-7, 6-2-6 AHC) will open up 2018 with a home-and-home with American International on Jan. 5 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, Mass. At 7:05 p.m. The teams will face off at the Hart Center on Jan. 6 at 7:05 p.m.
