Men's Basketball Heads To Lehigh On Friday
The Holy Cross men’s basketball team will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 5, when it travels to Lehigh for a 6:00 p.m. game. The contest between the Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks will be televised live by the Service Electric 2 Sports and the Patriot League Network, and can be heard live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 3-10 on the season with an 0-2 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have lost 10 of their last 11 games, and are coming off a 60-48 setback at Lafayette on Tuesday night.
Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has led the team by averaging 10.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game, while hitting 68.5 percent of his field goal attempts. Junior forward Karl Charles is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 10.4 points, 2.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. Freshman guard Caleb Green has added 10.3 points, 2.9 assists and 2.8 boards per game, while junior guard Patrick Benzan is chipping in with 8.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.
Lehigh enters the game at 6-7 overall and 1-1 in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks have dropped four of their last six games, including a 78-66 setback at Navy on Tuesday.
Junior guard Lance Tejada has led the team by averaging 14.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 48.6 percent of his three-point field goal attempts. Senior guard Kahron Ross has added 12.9 points, 5.2 assists and 3.5 boards per contest, while junior guard Kyle Leufroy is chipping in with 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
After the contest at Lehigh, the Crusaders will return home to face Loyola (Md.) on Monday, Jan. 8, at 7:05 p.m.
