Crusaders Hit The Road To Face Navy
The Holy Cross men’s basketball team hits the road this week for a 7:00 p.m. game at Navy on Thursday, Jan. 11. The contest between the Crusaders and the Midshipmen can be seen online through the Patriot League Network, and will also air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross owns an overall record of 4-11 on the season with a 1-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders are coming off a 64-57 victory over Loyola (Md.) on Monday, which snapped a five-game losing streak.
Junior forward Jehyve Floyd has led the team by averaging 11.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game, while leading the league with a .685 field goal percentage. Junior forward Karl Charles is also off to a strong start this year, with averages of 10.5 points, 2.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. Freshman guard Caleb Green has added 9.3 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 boards per game, while freshman guard Austin Butler is chipping in with 8.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest.
Navy enters the game at 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League. The Midshipmen have won two of their last three games, but were defeated by Colgate 70-62 on Monday night.
Senior guard Shawn Anderson has led the team by averaging 12.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, while hitting 75.3 percent of his free throws. Senior guard Bryce Dulin has added 11.4 points and 3.4 boards per contest, while junior guard Hasan Abdullah is chipping in with 10.7 points, 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
After the contest at Navy, the Crusaders will return home to face Boston University at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14.
