Holy Cross Athletics   01-26-2018

WORCESTER, Mass. – Head Coach Lindsay Jackson has announced the addition of Maddy Carpenter to the team’s staff as an assistant coach.

Carpenter joins Holy Cross following three seasons as an assistant at Dartmouth, where she focused on the team’s defense and goalkeeping. She has also served as a Level II Coach in the USA Futures program since 2015, where she served as a head coach and an assistant for different regions in that time.

As a student-athlete, Carpenter was a four-year starter in goal at Northwestern, where she served as a team captain and earned First Team All-Big Ten honors. As a senior in 2014 she backstopped the Wildcats to their first Big Ten Championship in program history with a win over No. 2 Maryland, clinching the team’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1994. She was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP. In addition to her playing career at Northwestern, Carpenter also competed internationally with Team USA at the U17, U19 and U21 levels.

Carpenter graduated from Northwestern in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She was a three-time All-Academic Big Ten selection, and was awarded the Big Ten Medal of Honor her senior year.
