Incoming Men's Hockey Players Receive All-League Honors
WORCESTER, Mass. – Two members of the Holy Cross men’s hockey team class of 2022 have earned all-league honors in their final seasons of junior hockey. Matt Barry and Will Conley, who will join the men’s hockey team for the 2018-19 season have earned all-league honors in their respective leagues.
Matt Barry, a forward from Naperville, Ill. plays for the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League (USHL). It was announced by the league that Barry was selected to the All-USHL Third Team. Barry ranks in the top-15 points scorers in the league, averaging 0.95 points per game. The forward has compiled 17 goals and 37 assists for 54 points in 57 games played. Barry also ranks in the top-10 in playoff points scoring in the league, having tallied six points in three games played (2-4-6).
The All-USHL Teams were voted on by League general managers and 17 of the 18 selected players have committed to play college hockey, four having been selected in the NHL Draft. Will Conley, a forward from Strathmore, Alberta plays for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). It was announced by the league that Conley was named to the Viterra North Division All-League Team. The forward recorded 80 points in 58 games played in the 2017-18 season, recording 48 goals and 32 assists. He averaged 1.40 points per game. In the regular season, Conley ranked second among the AJHL in points.
