WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross baseball team concludes its regular season this weekend, as the Crusaders play host to Lafayette and Lehigh in a pair of doubleheaders.

Saturday's doubleheader is the Crusader's Strike Out Cancer day, where the team will be accepting donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation throughout the event. Sunday’s contest will also be senior day, where Holy Cross will honor Austin Cave, Cam O’Neill, Thomas Russo, Michael Spada and Dan Vucovich for their dedication to the program on and off the field over the past four years.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • Holy Cross currently stands fourth in the Patriot League at 11-10, and has posted a 17-21 overall record on the year. Lafayette is currently sixth in the conference at 2-18-1 (14-32-1 overall), while Lehigh stands fifth at 7-14 (19-26 overall).
  • The Crusaders clinched a spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the fourth-straight year with an 8-7 victory over Bucknell on Tuesday night. The team most recently fell 15-3 to Marist on Wednesday night on the road.
  • Sophomore Austin Masel currently leads the Crusaders’ offense with a .312 batting average. He has posted 24 runs scored with 19 RBIs and four home runs. Sophomore Chris Rinaldi has also been solid at the plate with a .276 average and 23 runs scored. He leads Holy Cross with nine extra-base hits and has added 10 RBIs.
  • Junior Danny Barlok currently holds the second-best ERA in the Patriot League (minimum one inning per team’s games played) at 2.08 through 43.1 innings pitched. He has posted a record of 5-2 in 18 relief appearances while throwing 63 strikeouts. Classmate Pat McGowan has seen the most starting time on the mound, pitching 60.0 innings in 10 starts with two complete game. He holds an ERA of 2.10 and has earned 47 strikeouts. McGowan currently ranks second in the nation in hits allowed per nine innings at 4.35.
    • John Marti leads Lafayette’s offense with a .345 batting average, and has added 33 runs scored with 10 extra-base hits and 22 RBIs. JP Woodward holds the best ERA for the Leopards at 4.91 in 25.2 innings pitched on the year, adding 26 strikeouts in that time. For Lehigh, Chris Kersey leads the offense with a .342 batting average, 40 runs scored, 17 extra-base hits and 18 RBIs on the year. Levi Stoudt leads the Mountain Hawks’ starting rotation with a 3.24 ERA and 56 strikeouts in 58.1 innings pitched.
