Puccia, Wallace and Lawlor Named Captains For 2018 Season
WORCESTER, Mass. – Head Coach Casey Brown as announced the Holy Cross women’s soccer team’s captains for the 2018 season. The Crusaders will be led by rising seniors Lily Puccia, Caroline Wallace and Megan Lawlor.
“We are very pleased to formally announce Caroline, Meg and Lily as captains for our program,” said Brown. “These three are very strong leaders who truly embody our culture, including their approach to improving every day. They care deeply about this program and every person that’s a part of it; and have a strong passion to bring us to a level of success this group hopes to see. We are confident in our team's leadership, mentality and skill-sets; especially with these three at the helm.”
Puccia started in all 17 games for Holy Cross during the 2017 season, notching one point with an assist in the team’s 4-0 win over Iona. In her three years she has seen action in 35 games for the Crusaders and tallied two points. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll as a freshman and a junior.
Wallace appeared in 15 games with 14 starts for Holy Cross in 2017. She played a key role in the Crusaders’ defense which allowed just 1.16 goals per contest during on the year while posting seven shutout victories. In three years she has made 46 appearances, tallying three points with one goal and one assist.
Lawlor played in all 17 games for Holy Cross during the 2017 season while making 11 starts. She tallied one goal on the year with the game-winning score in a 1-0 win over Hartford. Lawlor also played a key role in the Crusaders’ 1.16 goals against defense for the year. In her three years she has appeared in 48 games, and has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice.
