Volleyball Announces 2018 Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head volleyball coach Melissa Batie-Smoose has announced the Crusaders’ 2018 schedule. The season will feature 31 regular season matches, including 11 home matches at the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex.
Holy Cross will open the 2018 slate at the Aggie Invitational at UC Davis, facing off against Utah Valley and Nevada on Aug. 24 and UC Davis and Northern Arizona on Aug. 25.
The Crusaders will return home to host the Holy Cross Invitational on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, hosting opponents Drake, Columbia and Rhode Island. Holy Cross will return to the road for the Blackbird Invitational at LIU Brooklyn on Sept. 7 and 8 against opponents LIU Brooklyn, George Washington, and USF. For their final tournament of the 2018 season, the Crusaders will play in the Dog Pound Challenge at Connecticut. The Crusaders will face Connecticut, St. John’s and Rutgers in Storrs, Conn.
Holy Cross will open Patriot League play at the Hart Center when they host Colgate on Sept. 21 and then travel to Army on Sept. 23. The Crusaders will host back-to-back home games on Sept. 28 and 29 against Bucknell and Lehigh, respectively.
The Crusaders will begin a road-stretch on Oct. 5 and 6, when they face American and Loyola and then play Lafayette and Navy on Oct. 12 and 13.
The Crusaders will host Army on Oct. 19 and at Colgate on Oct. 21. Holy Cross will play at Lehigh on Oct. 26 and at Bucknell on Oct. 27 before returning back to Worcester. The Crusaders will close the season with four home games, starting with Loyola on Nov. 2, American on Nov. 3, Lafayette on Nov. 9 and Navy on Nov. 10.
The top four teams in the conference advance to the Patriot League Tournament, taking place from Nov. 17-18. The highest seed will host the tournament.
