Lachapelle Heads to USA Women's National Festival

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross women’s ice hockey associate head coach Katie Lachapelle has been selected as an assistant coach of the U.S. Under-22 Women’s Select Team for the first time in her career.

 

As announced by USA Hockey on Aug. 3, Lachapelle was selected as a staff member for the 2018 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival held in Lake Placid from Aug. 6-13. The festival is an annual event that will also be used to select an Under-22 roster for a series against Canada in Calgary, Alberta.

 

Lachapelle will serve as an assistant Under-22 coach for the duration of the festival at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. She will then serve as an assistant coach during the series with Canada from Aug. 16-19.

 

Lachapelle has previously served as an assistant coach with the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Teams, where she helped guide the team to three consecutive gold medals at the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Under-18 Women’s World Championship (2017, 2016, 2015). She has also coached at USA Hockey camps for several summers, helping at various Girls’ Select 14, 15, and 16 Player Development Camps.
