Holy Cross To Host 2018 NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Northeast Regional
WORCESTER, Mass. – The road to the NCAA Frozen Four will once again begin in Worcester in 2018! The College of the Holy Cross has been selected as the host for the 2018 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey Northeast Regional at the DCU Center from March 23-25, 2018. Holy Cross previously held this event at the DCU Center in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
"Holy Cross is proud to once again partner with the DCU Center to bring the NCAA men’s ice hockey Northeast Regional to Worcester in 2018,” said Holy Cross director of athletics Nathan Pine. “The DCU Center is a first-class facility, and the Worcester community is very supportive of collegiate hockey. The past regionals played at the DCU Center have set records in attendance totals and provided outstanding experiences for countless student-athletes and fans. We will look forward to building upon these past successes for another outstanding regional in 2018.”
The 2018 event will mark the 15th overall time that the regional will take place at the DCU Center. Ten of the 14 teams to win the regional in Worcester have gone on to play in the national championship game, with six of those teams winning the national title. The total of 48 NCAA regional hockey games which have been played at the DCU Center are currently the most in the history of the Division I men's ice hockey tournament.
