Sherman Competes At The NCAA Zone A Diving Championship

Location: Christiansburg, Va. (Christiansburg Aquatic Center)
Date: March 6-7, 2017
The Lead: Sophomore diver Casey Sherman competed at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship hosted by Virginia Tech at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center from Mar. 6-7. This marked the second-straight year Sherman competed in the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Sherman placed 54th in the three meter (six dives) dive on Mar. 6 with her score of 185.20. She hit her best single-dive score of 40.80 with a forward two-and-a-half somersault pike.
  • Then on Mar. 7, Sherman concluded action at the championship, finishing 47th in the one meter dive (six dives) with her score of 184.00. She registered her top single-dive score of 36.30 on a forward one-and-a-half somersault one twist free.

BEYOND THE RESULTS:

  • Sherman is just the third Crusader in the program’s history to compete at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship.
