Swimming and Diving Teams Release 2017-2018 Schedule
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross director of athletics Nathan Pine and head swimming and diving coach Barry Parenteau have announced the teams’ schedules for the 2017-2018 season. The men’s team will host five meets, and the women’s team will host seven meets at the newly renovated Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex. The Crusaders will travel for seven meets including the Patriot League Championships.
“We are very excited about the upcoming Swimming and Diving 2017-2018 season,” said Parenteau. “The returning lettermen and the incoming first year students hope to build upon the success of last season. We are setting individual and team goals with hopes of having winning records during our duel meet season and to move up in the Patriot League standings in 2018. We have a very challenging schedule as always, including the addition of Colgate University in January.”
FLY INTO OCTOBER
The Crusaders will be at home for their first two meets against Assumption Sept. 29 and Iona Oct. 6. Both teams will then travel to Boston College for the BC Invitational Oct. 13-14. The women’s team will host Siena for a weekday meet Oct. 18. The men’s and women’s teams will be at home again Oct. 27 to host Fairfield. To finish the month of October, the Crusaders will compete in the Worcester City Championships Oct. 28.
The women’s team will host Sacred Heart Nov. 4. Both teams will then travel to Kingston, R.I. for the Harold Anderson Invitational Nov. 17-18.
BACK TO WORK IN JANUARY
After the holidays, the Crusaders will be back in action Jan. 15 for a home meet against Colgate. Providence will then come to Worcester Jan. 20 for the final home meet of the year. For the last January meet, the Crusaders will go to Springfield College Jan. 20.
UConn will host Holy Cross for the UConn Invitational Feb. 3. The Crusaders will then compete against Bryant in the last regular season meet Feb. 3.
The Patriot League Championships will take place Feb. 14-18 in Annapolis, Md. at Navy.
