FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  • The Holy Cross volleyball team will open Patriot League play in Easton, Pa. to take on Lafayette this Friday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 p.m. The Crusaders will then face Lehigh on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 4:00 p.m. to finish the weekend. 

  • Freshman outside hitter Katie Kerins leads the Crusaders with 167 kills on the season with nine double-doubles. 

  • Freshman libero Sophie VanSeveren is currently ranked 11th in the nation for digs per set with 5.78. VanSeveren was named to the GW All-Tournament team last weekend in Washington, D.C.

  • Junior middle hitter Kristen Somerville has tallied 49 blocks to lead the Crusaders at the net. 

  • Lafayette is 2-10 on the season after competiting in three tournaments, and Tori Smith leads the Leopards with 94 kills. Lehigh is 9-5 on the season and looks to improve on their 13-17 finish in 2016.
