Armani Dawkins is in her third year at the College of the Holy Cross in 2017-2018, serving as the associate director of athletics for student-athlete development. She was promoted to associate director of athletics in May of 2018, after spending the previous two and half years as assistant director of athletics. Dawkins is a member of the senior athletic staff with primary responsibilities around creating and implementing a robust series of programming to emphasize and improve the development and welfare of Holy Cross student-athletes. She also serves as the sport supervisor for the field hockey program.

Since joining the Crusaders in January of 2016, Dawkins has created and executed robust and influential programming centered around the development and welfare of Holy Cross’ nearly 700 student-athletes, initiating partnerships with such programs as the Victory Academy and furthering collaboration with the College’s Center for Career Development. Under her guidance, the Holy Cross Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has made huge strides in advancing its five pillars – leadership, academic excellence, career development, community engagement, and mental health and wellness – and has seen its ranks grow with the creation of such groups as WE LEAD (Women’s Empowerment through Leadership Education and Development) and MOCA (Men of Color Athletes).

Dawkins joined the Crusaders after working at Duke University from 2010-2015. She most recently served as the special assistant to the vice president and director of athletics, where she handled oversight responsibilities for the athletic director’s routine commitments including SAAC, public relations obligations and correspondence. In addition, Dawkins assisted the director of athletics with responsibilities for the Division I NCAA men’s basketball committee, United States Olympic Committee and Advocates for Athletic Equity. She also had oversight responsibility for all the executive administrative operations. She previously held positions with Duke as the assistant director of Iron Dukes for special events, and assistant director of administrative operations and human resources.

Prior to her time at Duke, Dawkins served as a branding and communications intern for the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Dawkins is a 2008 graduate of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and media studies. She was a member of the Rebels’ women’s soccer team, helping lead the squad to three Mountain West Conference titles while earning Academic All-Mountain West Conference honors. Dawkins went on to earn a master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University in 2015.
