Maureen Connolly Named C&R Tire Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior forward Maureen Connolly has been named the C&R Tire Crusader of the Week, for competition from Oct. 9-15. Connolly totaled two goals and three assists as the Holy Cross field hockey team posted a 1-1 record in a pair of games last week.

During Friday’s 8-1 loss to No. 23 Boston University, Connolly recorded an assist on the Crusaders’ only goal. Then in Sunday’s 4-1 victory at Brown, she posted a career-high six points with two goals and two assists. Connolly netted the first two goals of the day against the Bears, with one of them being the game winner.

On the season, Connolly leads the Patriot League in scoring with 36 points on 14 goals and eight assists. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has now totaled 45 goals and 22 assists for 112 points.

The Crusaders (6-8 overall, 2-2 Patriot League) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, when they travel to Bucknell for an 11:05 a.m. game.
