Caroline McCaughey Named James Diggins ’50 Women's Rowing Graduate Assistant
WORCESTER, Mass.- Holy Cross head women’s rowing coach Patrick Diggins has announced the hiring of Caroline McCaughey as the first ever James Diggins ’50 Graduate Assistant.
McCaughey was a standout rower at Villanova. She served as a team captain her senior year and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. During her time at Villanova, McCaughey attended the Villanova Leadership Institute where she participated in workshops on effective leadership on the field, in the classroom and in general life situations. She has coached at various summer camps including Concord Academy Summer Camp and Camp Bernadette as an assistant boating director.
“Coach Piotti and I are very pleased to have Caroline join our program,” said Diggins. “She has a great passion for rowing which is clearly contagious. She comes from a strong program at Villanova and has a good understanding of what it takes to be a committed, successful student-athlete. She's excited to help us make our team a contender for the Patriot League championship. She has already made a positive impact.”
McCaughey graduated from Villanova in 2016 with a B.A. in Economics and minors in Political Science and Psychology.
