Women's Rowing Set for Patriot League Championship
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women’s rowing team will travel to the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J., where it will compete for the Patriot League Championship on May 11.
- At 8:00 a.m. the Crusaders’ varsity eight boat will take on Loyola, MIT, Navy, and Georgetown in the opening heat.
- The top three finishers will advance to the Grand Final and the remaining boats will compete in the Petite Final. The Petite Final will be at 12:00 p.m. and the Grand Final will be held at 12:45 p.m.
- The second varsity eight will race at 8:45 a.m. Holy Cross will race against Bucknell, Georgetown, and Lehigh. The top three will advance to the Grand Final, held at 12:30 and the remaining team will race in the Petite Final at 11:45 a.m.
- The Crusaders will race a varsity four boat at 9:00 a.m. against Loyola, Boston University, Navy, and Colgate. If Holy Cross places in the top three, it will race in the Grand Final at 12:15 p.m. The Petite Final for the varsity four will be at 11:30 a.m.
In the 2017 Patriot League Championship, the Crusaders placed seventh and the second varsity eight boat raced to a third place finish in the Grand Final to win a bronze medal. The second varsity eight medal was the first medal for the Crusaders since a silver medal in 2013.
The race will also feature the Turnpike Trophy, the rivalry series between Holy Cross and Boston University.
